Description: The elaborate dress of the figure suggests ceremonial military attire, and it may represent one of the warriors who were once allies of the Malian emperor Sundjata Keita (ca. 1210-ca. 1260). Based on stylistic comparisons with similar figures, it can be tentatively dated to some time between the 13th and 15th centuries.
