VRA Great Lakes Chapter Meeting Minutes
March 8, 2006, Hyatt Regency Hotel, Inner Harbor, Baltimore, Maryland

In attendance: Joseph Romano, Astrid Otey, Bill Kennedy, Lorrie McAllister, Rebecca Price, Michelle Maguire, Nora Kilbane, Marlene Gordon, Carole Pawloski, Mary Duff-Silverman, Stephanie Bernhardt, Jean Koeller, Laura Paris
Approval of minutes from September 23, 2005 at Michigan State University, East Lansing, approved by Carole Pawloski and seconded by Marlene Gordon
Treasurer's report from Astrid Otey; balance as of March 1, 2006; $878.16. Copies were submitted to the members and reviewed.
Nomination committee report; Will continue working towards election. Joe and Astrid both agreed to continue in their positions so the committee will see if there are others who wish to run. Lesley will be approached after the conference. Lorrie McAllister expressed continued interest in the officer's position of secretary. The committee will post a memo to the list and elections will take place this fall.
Next meeting/gathering; Dayton, Ohio A get together will occur at Jean Koeller's house in Dayton, OH. This meeting is an informal social occasion. A date will be proposed on the list and decided on by the Great Lakes membership. June 17th is the first suggested date. Jean will provide food and members are welcome to stay the night by camping and there will be breakfast in the morning. Jean will also suggest commercial overnight accommodations for those who wish to stay that night but not camp.
Fall meeting; Columbus, Ohio Our Ohio State University members will host an official meeting which is tentatively scheduled for early October. A business meeting will occur with an agenda forthcoming. Michelle Maguire, who received a VRA Education Committee Workshop Grant to attend Digital Copystand for Dummies: A Real Life Workshop for the Rest of Us!, will give a presentation. She will discuss the content and relay any information given in the workshop.
Reimbursements for workshops were discussed and suggestions were made.
Deadline for membership was discussed and if members applied recently they will not have to renew until the following deadline. Some members still need to turn in their forms for the records
