VRA Great Lakes Chapter Spring Meeting

I. Call to Order and Introductions
- Meeting called to order by Chapter Secretary Meghan Musolff.
II. Approval of Meeting Agenda
- Motion to approve meeting agenda was made by Julia Hayes; seconded by Astrid Otey
III. Approval of Fall Meeting Minutes
- Motion to approve Fall meeting minutes was made by Julia Hayes; seconded by Astrid Otey
IV. Officer Reports
- Chapter Chair (Marlene Gordon)
- Chair notes read by Secretary Meghan Musolff
- At the Fall meeting, Terry Kerby announced that Detroit will host the 2012 meeting of the Mid-America College Art Association (MACAA) meeting; Stanley Rosenthal from Wayne State University is the chair of the conference planning committee. The conference includes a visual resources component and Terry is currently asking some of the WSU librarians to participate on the local committee.

- Currently have 18 members
- During the VRA general meeting, the idea of chapter membership sponsorship was discussed. Should we institute something of this kind for Great Lakes members? Perhaps for student members?
- Treasurer (Astrid Otey)

V. Committee Reports
- Membership: Twelve members have not renewed as of March 21. Three of our former members (Susan Jane Williams, Deardre Fuzzell and Eleanor Mannikka) are no longer at their previous institutions. We need at least one additional member to join Membership Committee. Others who are interested in serving on the committee are welcome to join.
- Travel Award: There were no applications for the Travel Award for 2011. Members are encouraged to apply for next year.
- Julia Hayes asked if the same amount would be offered next year or if the funds from this year would roll-over. Question will be discussed by the Travel Award committee.
VI. Upcoming Elections
- Both the Chapter Chair and Chapter Treasurer positions will become available in the Fall. Exact timeline of elections is included in proposed Chapter bylaws.
VII. Bylaws revision (2011)
- Chapter chair Marlene Gordon will forward proposed Chapter bylaw revision to the membership in April
VIII. Fall Meeting 2011
- An Ohio location (possibly Oberlin) for the Fall meeting is in the planning stages
- Details will be sent to the membership when known
