VRA Mid-Atlantic Chapter Meeting

Business Meeting:
1) Ann Woodward announced that she had wanted to resign as Chapter President to focus on her new role on the VRA Board as Treasurer. The VRA board, because of logistics, did not accept her resignation. It was stated that Liz Gushee of the University of Virginia expressed her interest prior to the chapter meeting to be candidate for President.
2) The Spring chapter meeting will be held at the University of Virginia, instead of at Hillwood Museum and Gardens, as previously planned, because of the departure of Amy (Stidwill) McKenna, who accepted a position at Williams College.
3) The date for the Spring meeting was discussed. June 2nd was proposed.
4) Suggestions for programming and topics for the Spring meeting were proposed:
- Tour of new Special Collections library
- Fedora, Digital Programs at UVA
- Digital Cameras and copystand
- Equipment calibration
- Camera settings
- Transferring images
- Projector specialists
- Dual digital projection possibilities
- Using CCO
- Staffing issues
5) Discussion of having “open houses” of regional Visual Resources libraries during the summer to see tech classrooms, collections, etc.
6) Chapter dues were collected for the 2006 calendar year.
7) Ann Woodward proposed having a reading and discussion group for the Chapter – topics could include CCO, XML and VRA Core 4.
