The minutes from the previous meeting (March 19, 2009) were approved

The treasurer’s report was given by Pat Cosper. The VRA-SE had a bank balance of $435.00 as of June 5, 2009. The balance included $30.00 dues received from members and $50.00 expense for the June 5, 2009 meeting.

Pat Cosper reported on the plans for the upcoming VRA annual conference in Atlanta because Frank Jackson, the Atlanta committee chair was not in attendance. Topics discussed were the tours, signage, keynote speaker, venues for events, theme or ideas and contacts at the High Museum. Mary Alexander and Martine Sherrill agreed to help Pat Cosper with the tours.

Barbara announced a Mini-regional conference to be held in conjunction with SECAC. This will be in Richmond, October 20- 23, 2010. Although we had previously discussed not meeting with other chapters or at SECAC we decided to do this because it has been some time since we have met at SECAC.

Barbara brought up the issue of bundled membership dues. We did not vote on this issue but decided to continue to discuss it and vote on the VRA-SE list serve.

It was reported that the Website is being updated.

Recruitment of additional members was discussed. Our approach would be state by state and volunteers were sought for each state. Martine Sherrill volunteered for NC and Pat Cosper for AL. It was also suggested that we recruit students from the various schools within our region.
