Reports

Progress on the web site for the chapter was reported by Mary. Content has been identified. Information is being sought on relationship between chapter sites and the recently updated VRA web site before proceeding
Martine Sherrill announced that the VRA memory book was now available at the conference registration desk.
Emy reported on the items of the chapter’s basket for the VRaffle.
New Business
Emy announced the SECAC call for papers focusing on across campus collaboration, working with others on campus on ARTSTOR, or building databases/digital repositories. SECAC call for papers is separate from VRA-SE since its conference site is beyond that of the chapter’s geographic area. For those who are not members of SECAC and wanting to present, contact her.
Emy reported on the next chapter event in August. Main activities include a business meeting and VRA-Core & CCO workshop. Presenters for the workshop will include John Taormina and others from the Duke University’s May workshop and Emy. University of Georgia will be the site. She is searching for a hotel that will offer reduce rates. Georgia Museum of Art is on campus. Restaurants are in easy walking distance. The tentative date is Friday, Aug. 3, 2007.
Meetings in 2008 include a business meeting during the VRA conference in San Diego, CA, and a chapter meeting in Birmingham, Alabama. Pat Cosper volunteered to host with the assistance of Mary and Rachel Dobson.
Discussion concerning chapter meetings held during SECAC conferences covered two main points: importance of having visibility with SECAC and importance of branching out to develop unique identity. Emy will post points of this discussion on the listserv to extent the discussion to its 30 members.
Emy presented a proposal for the SE chapter to host 2010 VRA conference in Atlanta. The chapter would assist with local arrangements (tours, local attractions, recommendations for restaurants, etc.) VRA Board would work with a management company for hotels, etc.
The meeting was adjourned 6:20.
