Chapter History
- VRA Texas met on June 7, 2008 in Austin in conjunction with the second Texas Conference on Digital Libraries from June 4-6. See our Meeting History page for details.
- VRA Texas met in February 2008 in Dallas in conjunction with the annual conference of the College Art Association. There was a variety of events planned to take advantage of this unique opportunity for Texas, including an Ask-the-Expert roundtable and XML presentation by Susan Jane Williams (Archivision) and a CCO workshop led by co-editor Elisa Lanzi (Smith College).
- VRA Texas met in Dallas in October 2007 in conjunction with the annual meeting of the Texas-Mexico chapter of the Art Libraries Society of North America. A full-day meeting hosted by Eileen Coffman took place on the campus of Southern Methodist University, which included facilities tours, systems demonstrations, a luncheon, a business meeting, and a visit to the Meadows Museum. - Bylaws were submitted and approved at the mid-year meeting of the VRA Executive Board.
- VRA Texas met at the 2007 VRA annual conference in Kansas City to discuss strategies for reviving the chapter, to plan future activities, and encourage participation. A steering committee was formed to revise bylaws and solicit officers for the coming year. Committee members were Bobby Anderson (University of Oklahoma), Katherine Hooker (Southwestern University), Sigrid Knudsen (University of Texas-Austin), and Mark Pompelia (Rice University).
