SAVE THE DATE!! The joint meeting of VRA/Upstate and ARLIS/WNY will be held in Alfred on Monday, June 13th. The day's schedule will include tours of the kiln rooms and other ceramics facilities, visits to the Schein-Joseph International Museum of Ceramic Art and the Inamori Kyocera Fine Ceramics Museum, business meetings for each chapter, and tours of the libraries and VR collections.
We are reserving a block of rooms for Sunday night at the Saxon Inn (on campus). There are other housing options in Alfred as well as in Hornell and Wellsville. More details to follow in a week or two. For those that want to come early, we will provide some guidance on things you could do on Sunday.
The Saxon Inn is located on the Alfred University campus and a 10 minute walk from Scholes Library. (When booking the room for June 12th please reference group number 616 Upstate NY VRA)http://www.alfred.edu/saxoninn/
Another alternative for lodging is the Comfort Inn, Hornell NY hotel, located about 15 minutes North of Alfred.
