Digital Initiatives Advisory Group

The Digital Initiatives Advisory Group (DIAG) is charged by the VRA Board with monitoring the activities of shared resource initiatives having digital components and to keep the VRA membership informed.

Shared initiatives having digital components can take many forms, from partnerships within organizations to multi-institution consortiums. They may involve sharing images, metadata, or both. Sharing can be facilitated through centralized collections, federated searching, or direct exchange. It is a rapidly growing component of locally managed image collections. DIAG uses several means to update the VRA membership about new developments in collaborative projects, consortiums, and methods and tools for sharing imaging and metadata, including:

Digital Scene and Heard, a column in the bimonthly online publication Images (formerly Image Stuff). This is your connection to timely news on shared resource initiatives and the  tools, technologies, and funding supporting them.  Please send submissions to column editor Jacquelyn Erdman (Florida Atlantic University) at jerdman2@fau.edu, DIAG has prepared an index to the archived issues of the column.
