Art
Libraries Society of North America
The Art Libraries Society of North America (ARLIS/NA), founded in 1972, is
a growing, dynamic organization promoting the interests of nearly 1,500
members. Its membership includes architecture and art librarians, visual
resources professionals, artists, curators, educators, publishers,
booksellers and others interested in visual arts information. To serve
this diverse constituency, the Society provides a wide range of programs
and services within an organizational structure that promotes
participation at all levels.
Visual Resources
Association
The Visual Resources Association (VRA), founded in 1982, is a professional
organization devoted to the study and use of visual materials. Its
international membership includes slide and photograph curators,
electronic media professionals; film and video librarians; photo
archivists; slide, microform, and digital image producers; rights and
reproduction officials; photographers; art historians; and other
professionals concerned with visual materials and image collection
management.
