Announcing the 2025-2026 VRA Professional Development Grant Recipient

The Visual Resources Association (VRA) is pleased to present the 2025-2026 VRA Professional Development Grant to Brianna Toth, Video Preservation Specialist at the Audiovisual Media Preservation Initiative (AVMPI), Smithsonian Institute.

Toth will develop in-house skills to assess, maintain, and repair 1” magnetic tape video decks by funding a one-day, hands-on workshop for Smithsonian staff working with audiovisual materials. This workshop will help mitigate the scarcity of resources and expertise related to basic maintenance and repair for obsolete video equipment. 

About the Professional Development Grant

The VRA Professional Development Grant awards up to $2,000 annually to support professional development in the field of visual resources and cultural heritage information management.
