Charge: The charge of the Programming Committee is to develop, coordinate, and promote high-quality programming that advances the professional interests of the VRA membership. The Committee plays a leading role in shaping the program for the annual VRA Conference, working in close collaboration with the VRA Board and other committees to ensure that conference content is responsive to members’ evolving interests and concerns. In addition, the Committee supports year-round engagement by fostering online programs that facilitate opportunities for professional connection, dialogue, and collaboration across the VRA community.

Otto Luna, University of New Hampshire
Nora Davies, Smith College
History of the Committee: The committee, previously called the Education Committee (EdComm), was renamed the Programming Committee in February 2026 after conversations between the VRA Board and members of the committee, including Otto Luna and Nora Davies. This change, accompanied by an updated charge and mission statement, reflects the committee’s present scope and responsibilities
Professional development resources curated by the Programming Committee are available to VRA members through the MyVRA Member Portal.
